We are actively engaged in environmental communication with our customers, business partners, local communities, governments, investors, employees, NGOs, experts, etc., through a variety of perspectives, including products and services, factories, and cooperation in environmental activities, as well as advertising, exhibitions, and website communication. And at the same time, we utilize stakeholder’s opinions to further improve our environmental management. Participation in initiatives Panasonic Group has joined the "Race To Zero"*1, which is committed to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050 at the latest, and signed the "Business Ambition for 1.5°C." We are accelerating our efforts to achieve the goal of 1.5°C, which was globally declared at COP26. By joining the WBCSD (World Business Council for Sustainable Development)*2, we participate in international rulemaking and other activities to ensure that our products and services are properly evaluated as useful to society. *1 https://unfccc.int/climate-action/race-to-zero/who-s-in-race-to-zero#eq-1 *2 https://www.wbcsd.org/ Proposals on Environmental Policy In addition to publicity through Keidanren (Japanese Business Federation) and other industrial organizations, we submit environmental policy proposals not only to the Japanese government but also to governments of other countries through a wide range of opportunities. We joined in policy deliberations on environmental issues that the society is facing today: a future vision for national governments, industry, and people's lives aimed at the creation of a sustainable society, and information sharing and exchange related to international activities. Through this approach we established a deeper understanding of government policy. Based on this, we are engaging in a drive to promote environmental management with an awareness of preventing business risks as well as creating opportunities, through actively presenting proposals from the standpoint of manufacturing, marketing, and technology development. Communication with Assessment Bodies and Investors Panasonic Group has been engaged in constant communication with domestic and international assessment bodies and investors in order to inform them of our contribution to the environment and deepen their understanding of it. Among our contributions, great attentions have been paid especially to progress to realize Panasonic GREEN IMPACT; our medium- and long-term environmental targets; and our initiatives to reduce the GHG emissions across our value chain. We held sustainability briefings to explain our sustainability management approach and initiatives in January and July 2022. We will continue to engage in such communication. Communicating through Showrooms and Exhibitions Panasonic Group has a range of exhibits across inside and outside to present its environmental sustainability management and its eco-conscious products and services, as well as to receive voices and requests directly from its customers. At Panasonic Center Tokyo, one of our corporate global communications hub, we present actual initiatives and solutions to realize "Ideal society with affluence both in matter & mind". Panasonic Center Tokyo is actively working toward carbon neutral; in fiscal 2020, it has became the first "Zero CO2 showroom" in our group, and also started demonstration and exhibition of pure hydrogen fuel cell generators in fiscal 2021. In March 2022, we opened the Panasonic GREEN IMPACT PARK as a place to create an opportunity for elementary and junior high school students, who are the future, to learn about the current state of growing global warming issues, their solutions, and to take action. In addition, we also introduce our initiatives at online exhibitions and seminars, which are viewed by many participants.
